POSTCARDS FROM MONTEVIDEO

Despite the glory of it’s European past and it’s pre-eminence in Latin America, the Uruguan capital of Montevideo also displays the more recent influences of political dictatorship. To me it appeared both contemporary and somewhat broken.

This is from a series of images taken whilst ambling around the Rambla, a promenade that snakes for twenty-three kilometres along the calm waters of the Río de la Plata, commonly known as the River Plate.
