Far From the Edge

Coober Pedy is the largest supplier of Opal in the world. 

At about one-thousand kilometres north of Adelaide in South Australia, it is also renowned for its scorching desert heat, with half the population living underground.

Vast, desolate, desert vistas taunt the camera exposing the inadequacies of the widest of wide-angled lenses and the edge of the land seems far away.

Yet, with over one million uncovered mine-shafts, the edge is never far away.
